Devolving into the Future

An omnipresent yet constantly changing mound of waste at the local landfill leaves me trying to visualize, the ‘five’ billion pounds of Amazon product returns that end up in the global landfill every single year. While feeding our insatiable rate of consumption there is a disconnect as to how this is coming back to haunt us.

 

Description: Images of trash taken at the local landfill have been dye sublimated onto twelve textile panels suspended from the ceiling. Ambient air gently moves the transparent textile, metaphorically replicating the billowing endless stream of incoming trash found at landfills day after day,
