Reflections

Themes : environment, global warming, metaphorically referencing the function light reflection on natural leaves plays in mitigating global warming for better or worse. Darker more dense leaves absorb and trap more heat than lighter leaves which reflect light off their surface and play a greater role in cooling the planet.

Description: This work
consists of large and small pate de verre crystal glass leaves created from clay models of delicate natural leaf veining impressions. The upper leaf surface was dichroically coated in vacuum chambers.
