Remains of the Day
Themes: environmental and technological change, impact on the environment, humans and other species, future/past tense, historical tintypes.
Description: This body of work involved the photographic transfer of images onto twelve galvanized metal panels, the surface of which was patinated with lacquer, shellac, stains, pigments and pulverized rust. The image compositions intended to provoke contemplation and speculation on the future while referencing the past visually referencing turn-of-the-century historical tin-types which provide clues as to life at that time, while metaphorically questioning what would come to represent lives lived in our time.
